I haven't tried connecting my 70D yet but if it's like my 6D you need to use an adhoc connection and need to go through EOS Utility. Lee Orchard Photography (LeoPhotography): #WHAT IS WFT PAIRING SOFTWARE SOFTWARE#The wft function on the mac doesn't list any cameras and on the camera I get through all the wi-fi setup and to the pairing stage, which is where it stops, waiting for the pairing software on the mac.Īny help would appreciated as I don't know what else to try.įor your info, I have connected the camera to the iPad with the EOS remote app with no problems I have just installed the EOS utilities on my mac expecting to be able to do wireless control and image transfer but I just can't get the 2 to connect. Lee Orchard Photography (LeoPhotography) says: Then connect to Computer from the camera and you should see a pop up to connect on your mac. In the preferences of the EOS Utility uncheck and check the register the WFT pairing software. It works only with disabled wifi. Thanks guys for all your help, it helped me to think further and resolve the issue which was expected behaviour at the end.Love my 70D again! I have reset all the factory settings and obviously the computer is not supposed to recognise the camera, when wifi is turned on. Also don't use the EOS Utility or other Canon software. #WHAT IS WFT PAIRING SOFTWARE SERIES#I tried the wifi, which works well, but have never used the cable with the 70D, my 60D, or old Rebel series cameras. Sounds like a new cable is the place to start. Just wanted to make sure if it's that particular Canon cable I need, because I would not want to give away my new camera and leave there for repair… I have to go back to seller for either get the original cable or repair/replace the camera if it is the port. At that point I realised they the interface cable was missing and tried with other USB cables I have at home but no luck so far. I was about to get known other wireless features and to setup the web services with EOS Utility but you need to connect your camera for the first time. I did not connect the camera for 3 weeks after purchase to the computer at all. I also prefer using the card reader and I imported all my pictures from the card to Aperture it works fine. My Aperture library is referenced so that I have quick access to my pictures for use in other applications. Occasionally I create a folder on the desktop or in the Pictures folder and then import into Aperture. #WHAT IS WFT PAIRING SOFTWARE DOWNLOAD#I download directly into an Aperture project most of the time. I find it more convenient to use the built-in card reader on the iMac to download my pictures. I have had no problems with my iMac or Aperture. Therefore my question if it works for you with a regular USB cable too or is it restricted to the interface cable provided by Canon? I only hope it is the cable as the one provided by Canon (Interface Cable IFC-130U) was missing from the original box. #WHAT IS WFT PAIRING SOFTWARE TV#I tried to connect it to my TV and Home Cinema System but no sign of external device either.īasically I have isolated the issue either to the USB connection or the port of the camera. Therefore I did not see repairing the disk and permissions or deleting. I tried the same on two different Mac computers with both 10.8 and 10.9 same issue. #WHAT IS WFT PAIRING SOFTWARE DRIVER#I re-installed the applications (EOS Utility and CameraWindow) to make sure it was not the driver but no success. The device will be not recognised from Aperture or iPhoto either. Thanks for the quick reply and all the tips. Have you tried using Image Capture? or iPhoto? when the 70D is connected? Do they work? Maybe reinstall the EOS Utility? Preference files are found in 2 places - the ones in your user library are hidden under OSX 10.9 (because Apple doesn't really want most people fooling around with them). If that doesn't clear up the problem I try deleting preference files for the appropriate program. Whenever anything unusual happens on my Mac, I repair Disk Permissions using Disk Utility, then restart the Mac. I've had no trouble with OSX 10.9.1 and my 70D. Have you ever tried to connect your camera with any other USB cable than the IFC-130U? I do not have the original interface cable supplied by the manufacturer but the mini USB port on the camera looks like a standard one to me. Same issue with all the other applications installed from the CD and updated from the website. Have you experienced any issues connecting the 70D to OS X 10.9? I have installed the latest software version from the official Canon website tried at least 4 different USB cables and two Mac computers and it was only recognised by EOS Utility at the very first time.
